Ed Crooks is US Industry and Energy Editor for the Financial Times
He has been covering energy for almost a decade, first in London and then in New York, where he has been based since 2010.
His coverage of the 2010 Deepwater Horizon disaster won the “story of the year” award from the UK Foreign Press Association.
He is a frequent speaker at conferences and on broadcast media.
He previously held the roles of economics editor and then UK news editor at the FT.
He also served on the UK government’s advisory Sustainable Development Commission.
Before the FT, he worked in various roles at the BBC, ending up as economics correspondent for radio and television news. He has also worked as a reporter and editor for Investors Chronicle magazine, and as a research analyst for the Institute for Fiscal Studies, a London-based think-tank.
He is a graduate of Oxford University with a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics.
