H.G. Chissell is the Founder and CEO of Advanced Energy Group, an energy leadership organization with stakeholder working groups in Chicago, New York City and Washington D.C. and Principal of Advanced Energy Agency, a media and growth agency.
Mr. Chissell focuses on curating the right collection of top energy leaders in Chicago, New York and Washington D.C. to facilitate ongoing stakeholder collaboration that expedites needed energy projects. Stakeholders include federal agencies, city governments, portfolio real estate owner/managers, national accounts, transit agencies, regional grid operators, distribution utilities and energy solution providers.
Previously, H.G Chissell served as Co-Founder of GridMarket and Senior Vice President of Strategic Accounts for Viridity Energy, a demand response software/service firm focused on consumer-sided virtual power enablement. Mr. Chissell led Viridity’s growth of MWs under management and strategic expansion throughout PJM, NYISO and ERCOT across all key verticals. Key accomplishments include the first behind-the-meter frequency regulation battery project in PJM, first 1 MW behind-the-meter battery project in Chicago, first full spectrum DR battery project in New York City and first multi-site EV2Grid project with the Pentagon in PJM and ERCOT.
From 2013 to 2015, H.G. Chissell served as Lead Facilitator for the ConEdison Energy Storage Working Group. In 2014, Mr. Chissell received the Federal Energy and Water Management Award for his work with U.S. Army Base Fort G. Meade and American Water
Mr. Chissell graduated from Swarthmore College, studied architecture at Drexel University and received his accreditation as a LEED AP. Mr. Chissell began his commercial career at RDLA, a healthcare architecture firm in Philadelphia.
