Paulo Pereira serves as Global Vice-President, Utilities and IoT for SparkCognition Inc. a provider of artificial intelligence powered products and state of the art machine learning software that enhances cyber security, prevents breaches and equipment failures before they happen.
Pereira began his career at the National Institute for Space Research in Brazil where he gained experience in instrument controls and data acquisition software and hardware and continued at TRW Automotive in the experimental engineering where he developed software and measurement systems to validate new products and automate manufacturing test.
In 2001 he joined National Instruments where he served in various roles within Sales and Business Development for 15 years, including the role of Director, Energy Segment Americas, and later as the Regional Sales Director for Canada and Latin America, leading a team of regional professionals in areas of sales, engineering, operations and marketing.
Pereira is a native of Brazil and citizen of the United States of America. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Mauá Institute of Technology-IMT in Sao Caetano do Sul, Brazil. He is an author of technical text book titled Practical Solutions for Instrumentation and Automation published in 2005 in Brazil.
Personally, Pereira enjoys travel, photography, woodwork and Latin-American music & dance.
