Reporting to Chief Digital Officer, Rob is the Global head for Digital Transformation at ABB. His organization is focused on acceleration of the digital businesses of ABB, acceleration of the digital adoption of customers, and incubation of strategic group-wide digital businesses.
With over 25 years in information technology (hardware, systems, software, networking and communication products), Rob is an innovative executive and entrepreneur with experience ranging from founding startups to executive management of global enterprises. Rob’s background spans software and systems product development, strategic partnerships, technology led business strategy consulting for the Fortune 500, general management,
and corporate development.
Rob’s career spans enterprises such as Amdahl Corporation, Sun Microsystems, Dell, Global Business Strategies Consulting, Cisco and SpaceTime Insight.
Prior to joining ABB, Rob was Corporate Development Officer at SpaceTime Insight, an Industrial IoT and Machine Learning software technology startup based in the Silicon Valley. SpaceTime Insight is a provider of predictive monitoring and optimization solutions for Asset Intensive Industries (Utilities, Energy, Transportation and Logistics).
Prior to SpaceTime Insight, Rob held several senior leadership roles at Cisco Systems, including Global leadership roles for Cisco’s Internet Business Solution Consulting Group (IBSG), Global lead/GM for Cisco’s Strategic Partnership Group, and Strategy and planning lead for Cisco’s Telepresnce Products. There he worked with end customers to envision, create, and deliver innovative technology enabled business strategies and economic models driving real economic impact in profitable growth and process optimization.
Rob holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and mathematics, and is a published author. He has two children, and his hobbies include Yoga, and Technical Scuba Diving. Rob has also served on numerous technical advisory boards including Gramecysquare.com, CxNetworks, TransAria, and MCC:O2. He is currently serving on the NextAxiom and Allied Sports Ventures Technical Advisory Boards.
